Day 23/24

I will just combine these days together. On both of these days I valued my friends and am grateful for having them in my life.

Recently many friends have come out of the woodwork. Almost as if they could sense my troubles. Just being able to chat with them and hear about their lives and have them reaffirm mine was a true blessing.

Day 22

Today I am thankful for love.

Love in any form. 

It is amazing how a simple "love you" or show of appreciation can really make a difference.

There was something that really irked me today and I couldn't let go of it.  It was to the point I felt physically ill just thinking about.  Then, I noticed a simple message from a coworker on my twitter.  All it said was "love you lady!"  I looked a that tweet and just started smiling.  I have so much to be thankful for in this world, and these little things don't matter. 

I am smart, have a wonderful job, the most amazing family, friends and coworkers anyone could ever ask for.  I am truly blessed in my life.  No matter how down I get, I always need to remember that. 

Isn't that why I started this blog in the first place?

A friend sent me a song tonight of him singing "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty... I think those are words to truly live by.

Day 21

After work I stopped by Axel's apartment to hang out.  We watched some random shows, but the best part of all... we went ballistic on a massive puzzle of Las Vegas!  It was fantastic.  I also brought myself chicken wings and cheese sticks.  Yum!  I really needed some greasy comfort food.  Such an awesome way to end the day.  Sweet and simple.  :)

Day 20

Tonight was... different.

Went to a singles mingle with all my single ladies.  Let's just say it was a disaster!

But... we all stuck together and laughed at at the creepy old men staring at us.  We also met some other very sweet single ladies and chatted them up.

In the end we just went downstairs where there was karaoke and belted our hearts out!

Hey, we went out there and tried something new.  Gotta give us some credit. :)

Day 19

On this day I had a fantastic dinner with my ladies!

We went to Legal Harborside and enjoyed the oyster bar.  I had no idea there were so many different kinds of oysters!  We had a blast just trying them all out.  Our waiter was awesome too which made it nice.  Nothing worse than a waiter who isn't just as happy as you are.

Note:  Try a Wianno oyster... XL... you won't be disappointed.


This was our bill for the Wianno oysters... our server made sure we got the biggest!



Day 18

Completely random...
I had other things today that happened that were greet, but one of my biggest smiles came when I got home. My cat always greets me at the door. I left the lights off as I was taking off my shoes, and all I could see as Indie was rolling around and meowing were sparks flying off his fur! He must have been cuddled in a blanket before I got home and he was covered in static electricity. It was just something awesome that made me laugh.

Day 17

Wonderful night with coworkers!

Did karaoke at the bar with my friend Siobhan. We rocked Total Eclipse of the Heart! Such a blast, really glad I met all of them and started going out with them after work.  They are a very fun-loving, supportive bunch. Tonight, one of my friends said very kind words to me, really helped me feel a bit better about my situation and my life.  I have some of the most amazing friends. :)

Day 16

I bought Wendy's today. Seems like an odd thing to be my happy moment for the day, but I haven't had a frosty in forever!!

Day 15

Completely random thing... but it made me smile.

We have a mice infestation at work. Most people are terrified, I am not. I have actually been sad because I haven't seen one yet. But I finally saw one... well a tail.  It made me smile.  Lol

Day 14

UBER GEEK DAY!!

Though I was extremely tired from the new meds I got, I kick my ass out of the house and joined my friends for a game of D&D.  I died near the end of the encounter, but the stories we made up along the way had me in tears.  Nothing like a little bit of fantasy to add spark to your sometimes dull life.  :)

Day 13

Friday bitches!

Today was fun because I finally got off my butt and went grocery shopping at one of my favorite stores.  Haven't been there in so long!  Got tons of food for uber cheap.

Plus, I got to hang out with one of my besties. Played Settlers of Catan and shot the shit with him and his roommates before we ventured off into the night for some fun with my coworkers.  Crazy older lady  and her very much inebriated boyfriend (husband?) making fools of themselves on the dance floor.  So of course, Siobhan and myself just had to go and dance with them.

It was so wrong... yet so right.

Day 12

But while on break from work, I saw a tricked out older model Honda Civic.  What was so special and smile worthy about it??  It was the same color pink as my old Barbie Corvette!  Made me reminisce about my childhood.  I miss that Barbie Corvette.  I miss being a kid even more!

Day 11

Today many of my coworkers and I got into a #twitterpicbattle.  :)

First started with me taking a photo of the anchors right before the show started.  Then one of the anchors took a photo of me working... and it just escalated from there!  Gorgeous photos, candid photos, silly photos.  All for an hour and a half we all laughed and had a joyous time trying to capture singular moments in the newsroom.  Such a blast!

Day 10

Once again I'm falling behind, but it's all because of my late night fun with friends.

On this day I finally got to sing karaoke with a live band after work.  It was such a blast!  It was awesome having background singers and being able to interact with the band members onstage and the crowd watching below.

Also must say... I love my coworkers.  I know I have said this before, but they are truly amazing friends!  They cheered me on, sang along, took what I assume is embarrassing vids of the event.  Wonderful friends, amazing people... what more can a girl ask for?

Too, too much fun!

Day 9

I keep getting delayed in writing... sleep overpowering my updates! Lol.

So for day 9 I have to say I was happy to be given a chance. Quite often the producers will let us writers do cold opens and teases for the show. I love when this happens. It's them trusting us with more in our job. Plus it gives us a chance to try something different and hopefully lead to more.

I am grateful to know that there is someone out there who loves me and is thinking about me.

My coworkers.

Even with all the shitty stories we have to deal with daily, we all still know how to laugh.  Cracking jokes, extending on inside jokes, watching the Golden Globes... it's always a good time. :)

Day 6

Delayed but still have to say what I am happy for.

Yesterday I had a really good time with my friend Matt. We saw a 3D horror flick that was more funny than horrifying. But we made a night of it with dinner and I introduced him to the show The League. Many laughs were had!!

Day 5

Thankful for Neil Young today. The past two nights I have driven home I have heard his music. He is just indescribable. His way of playing, his voice, his lyrics. Love, love, LOVE! When he comes on the radio, you just can't help but smile.

Day 4

So many wonderful things today!

Beautiful day so I went for walk. Very calming and nice to get out for fresh air.

Fantastic time with coworkers as we said goodbye to another coworker who is moving away for love.  What a wonderful time for him and just a great time laughing and chatting with friends.

Today was just a beautiful day all around. :)

Day 2

One of my coworkers who has helped me so much through these past few difficult months was sweet enough to buy my dinner tonight.  We ran into each other at the Whole Foods near work and walked the store together chatting about how life was going. When we reached the check out line, I put down the divider between her purchases and mine. When I went to put her basket under the belt for her, I got back up to find she had removed the divider and pushed my stuff right up with hers.

This woman has such an amazing spirit and has done so much for me since starting at my job. This simple act of buying my dinner was just the sweetest gesture of love and compassion to an already long list of little things she has done for me.

I am a true believer that things and people come in to your life for a reason. Accepting this job has brought many important opportunities and individuals into my life... including her.

Day 1

At the urging of friends, I have folded and decided to start writing.  They aren't begging me to write because I am good at it or anything, but because I have a lot of sadness right now and need an outlet.

This shall be it.

I don't intend to write about what has happened or how I am feeling, instead it will be me posting about something good or beautiful from the day.  It could be as simple as a picture of a moment that made me happy, something someone said that made me smile, or a quote that warmed my heart.

Either way... it's going to happen one day at a time.
